Services From Radha Institute to Mentally Retarded

Every Individual has a right to develop to his/her physical and mental capabilites.It is with this spirit that tha Radha Institute for Mentally challenged was started in the year 1974 and got Registered in 1977.

Special Education :

At first the child is keenly observed and assured according to his/her ability goals and objectives are selected. Training is imparted in particular areas like for caption self help skills, social ,acadamic and occupational and recrational activities by specially trained teachers.

Vocational trainings Infile Making ,Envelop Making .Candle Making , Pop corn Making , Manufacturing phynol ,Surf, Sabina are given.

Tailoring , Gardening, Screen printing , Hand embroidery trainings are imparted by trained instructors.Tehse are intended to make children proficient in any vocation and gain self confidence.

Physio Therapy :

The Institute provieds Physio Therapy facility to children who are in need of it.Qualified Physio Therapist is treating (22) children at present. The following treatment is being given. Passive movements, Strengthening exercises , Stretching , Cycling , Hand and Finger exercises , Shoulder bracing exercises , Sit - ups Squatting and balancing etc.

Psychological Testing :

Clinical Psychologists assess the childs I.Q and give behavioural modification therapy for reducing problems. A qualified Psychologist visits the Institute regularly and treats Children for their psychological problems.

Speech Therapy :

A speech therapistr gives speech therapy to pupils who are in nee of it. 25 pupils areungu going speech therapy at present.Speech and language development, common words ,long and short vowel sounds, simple words ,senteness ,recognition of bodyparts etc.

Staff engage children in in-door and out-door games craft activities and yoga several national and cultural festivals are celebrated in the Institute and children are encouraged to partticipate in them. Independence day , Republic day ,Gandhi jayanthi , Childrens day , Teachers day are celebrated and childrens are participated in games ,sports, Singing , Dancing ,Mimicry and fancy dress competitions.

They were awarded prizes on the day of Krishnastami children dressed in Lord krishna's attire and broke the hanging pot. Children are encouraged to participate in the competitions conducted in other Institutions an their Invitation.
